Partnership Effort for the Advancement of Children's Health (PEACH)
PEACH is a grassroots community-based social enterprise that deals with an environmental and economic impact on our society. PEACH has initiated a plan to help marginalized residents become employed in lead-based paint disciplines, and to increase the number of environmental businesses owned by people of color.
We deal with environmental health and economic impacts of lead-based paint in older housing; and we are leading a grassroots initiative for healthy housing. We want everyone to live well in their home environment and we’ve initiated the Globe Program to help marginalized residents become employed in lead-based paint disciplines, and to increase the number of environmental businesses owned by people of color.
Certified Lead Renovator Training for Contractors
Protect yourself, your family, and the family of the home where you are working against the harmful effects of lead dust during repair and paint projects. Since April 2010 contractors performing work that disturbs lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities and schools built before 1978 must be certified, and follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. The North Carolina Health Hazards Control Unit, Lead-Based Paint Hazard Management Program (LHMP) has state-specific statutes and rules for certification and work practices during renovation, repair, and painting activities conducted in Target Housing and Child-occupied facilities built before 1978. Click here to learn more about the class and enroll in a class at the PEACH location, or to schedule a class at your location.
